Andrea Eighme With Grace

Welcome to With Grace. This week, we feature Andrea Eighme, VP of Global Talent Acquisition at AG1. A masterclass TA leader, Andrea has delivered outsized results across industries, most recently at AG1, Capsule, and AWS. Known for her fierce, agile leadership and the competitive drive of a former D1 athlete, she pairs authenticity, compassion, and grace with a relentless focus on business impact. Her perspective on leadership: “Trust and integrity take time to get but a second to lose and a lifetime to gain back.”

What’s a recent aha moment you’ve had?

Health and time are the two essential things to me in my life. Over the past year, I’ve been on a wellness journey focused on feeling good while prioritizing what matters. Because of this, my mind is clear right now, allowing me to be at my best. I’ve recently been awarded the top 100 in my industry, recruited and hired a game-changing CMO for AG1, and have lost 20+ lbs since June. It’s important to prioritize health and to remember that time eventually runs out, so it’s essential to spend it wisely.

What’s an unexpected tool you love?

Candidate.FYI - This tool has been a game changer for my team this year. The tool offers interview scheduling automation and a candidate portal that guides each candidate through their interview process by providing detailed information about their interviewers, each step of the process, and more about AG1. Candidate.FYI sends automated pulse surveys throughout the process, which helps my team get real-time feedback that can be addressed immediately. This tool has eliminated the need for a Recruiting Coordinator and provided a stellar candidate experience.

What’s a daily ritual you swear by?

I don’t believe there is such a thing as ‘work-life balance.’ As an executive with three children and a busy life, nothing would be balanced if I ‘balanced’ my time. There are seasons in life where my kids need the most support; my work requires my focus, and other seasons where my passions are my most significant focus. I’ve learned that this is okay, and it is also what makes me happy, fulfilled, and successful in life.

That said, I am committed to daily Pilates and bible readings as part of my life. I was re-baptized this year, and this has been an evolution for me.

How do you see AI evolving in your industry over the next 5 years?

I recently used AI to create an itinerary for my family vacation. I use it daily to write, research, and summarize things like QBRs. AI is becoming more relevant daily and has recently been a great way to optimize recruiting sourcing strategies. While AI has been around for 20 years, it continues to evolve and integrate into our daily work, but we will always need humans. AI will continue to automate tasks and simplify work, making our world faster and faster.

What’s a key quality or trait you believe is essential for leaders?

Trust and integrity. They both take time to get but a second to lose and a lifetime to gain back.

What motivates you to keep pushing forward in your work?

I have always been highly competitive. I played D1 soccer for Arizona State and was world-ranked in Western Reining (equine). I’ve taken the athlete mentality and carried it into both my professional and personal life. I am always striving to win and to make things the best. I love winning and continuously learning about new approaches and ways to improve things. I’ve always said I was born with an ‘on’ and ‘off’ switch, but unfortunately, I wasn't equipped with a ‘dimmer switch.’ My mentality is all or nothing. I hope my kids can find their dimmer switch.

What makes a brand authentic to you?

Authenticity is being yourself in the raw. It’s instinctive. I don’t know how many people know how to be themselves in the raw anymore; the world is so noisy. It takes a lot of work to quiet the mind and eliminate distractions to remember your inner thoughts and natural personality. It’s my energy and ability to solve problems and influence people around me. I bring a high degree of passion and excitement to things I love in life.

Who’s someone you admire?

God

What’s the best advice you’ve received, personally and professionally?

Be careful who you seek advice from. Choose wisely and select someone who has done something or is in a position you aspire to be in someday. Learn from them.

What interview question do you always ask without fail?

What would somebody you work closely with say about you if I asked them?

How can someone make you extremely happy?

By trusting me, making me feel important or acknowledging the impact of my work

Who should we feature next?

This fantastic human I recently met: Sushma Dwivedi

What haven’t I asked that you’d like to share?

I haven’t figured out what’s next for me, but I know I have much more to offer this world.
